@Sam... another thing to consider is power. The EX1 is 12v. That means the same battery that runs the camera will run standard accessories like lights and external recorders. The Swit batteries for the EX1 have a d-tap (aka ptap) connector in addition to the tail that runs the camera. This power arrangement opens up all kinds of options. In contrast, the XF30x is a 7.4 volt camera. Further, it's battery is entrapped in the camera body with a fiddly door (I am told)

As soon as I get another paying gig I'll rent one of these. The EX1 was 350 a day to rent OUCH! anybody else's pro shop charging this much a day or am I getting taken.
