Greetings from Birmingham, UK :)

Hi all

I am a hobbyist videographer who has been shooting and editing videos for nearly 5 years, mainly covering small to medium sized community events of all sorts. I'm not yet full-time in the business, but am aspiring to do it soon...

Originally I came from a musical background playing in Gospel bands and graduating at university with a BA Honours music technology degree. I wasn't really into videography until about 4 years after graduation when I was inspired by what other musicians were doing with their videos (promoting themselves, recording concerts etc.).

So I started into this venture after buying my first camcorder, the Panasonic HDC-SD9. And after a few years of practicing shooting gigs for free, I stepped up and invested in several other cams such as the panny TM-900, Canon HF-G25, then finally my current setup which consists of:

2 x Sony VG20s
1 x Sony AX100
1 x Sony Alpha57 DSLR (used for close ups)
2 x Sony action cams (AS100V)

(And a whole load of tripods, and lights).

Ok that's enough about me ☺.

This is my first post, so apologies if it's long...

Regards,

Bryan

Thanks Paul.

This site appears to be a wonderful so far. I'm particularly interested in the POV forum as I recently got some action cams to film gigs with. I'm always on the look out to check out the interesting ways these things are used in that setting.

It's good to read of fellow videographers of different levels of experience and backgrounds :)
