"My bro..."

K. Forman January 19th, 2006 12:48 PM

You're starting to freak me out man... where do you know me from?

Dave Herring January 19th, 2006 12:54 PM

I don't, I promise! Just heard tell of your company, don't remember where, maybe in a leasing house or in education circles.

Been around a long time, met many people... I ain't trying to freak you out!

Could'nt believe you know 'Alice'.

K. Forman January 19th, 2006 01:19 PM

When you threw out that line, I was sure you knew me from somewhere. I like to throw that line out once in a while... You can get anything you want. Those who know, will respond. Those who don't, just look at you funny :)

Dave Herring January 19th, 2006 03:01 PM

I get a lot of funny looks.

K. Forman January 19th, 2006 03:14 PM

Me too... I'm almost taking it personal :)

Jeff McElroy January 19th, 2006 04:33 PM

Aye, be careful to give due respect to hurricanes, and realize that the likes of Jeanne, Frances, etc are meteorological pipsqueaks compared to the storms of the 1930's, 40's, and 50's. If you think 04 was a nightmare (which it was)… just wait until the next few decades are over! : (

I have been in the eye of a category five, a high-end four, two cat 1's, and numerous tropical storms. My forefathers moved to Miami in the early 1900’s, and we still have the stories and pictures of the hell that they went through (and some 8mm film of Betsey in 65’!).

Seeing how we are moving back to such times today, I suppose there is a bright side: nothing is more awesome and more frightening... and as full of cinematic potential.

I would absolutely love to see some of the stuff captured by my Florida brethren in the midst of these most recent tempests. A collaboration (documenting a storm at different times as it trekked across the state) would be something, no?

Dave Herring January 20th, 2006 12:27 AM

Great idea, I can get plenty of stuff on the West Coast... we'll make it a true collaborative effort.

A DVinfo original.

WAIT, did I just volunteer myself for 'another' project?

oh, ah, NM!

Steven Gotz January 20th, 2006 08:51 AM

I got the reference. In fact, I heard the whole thing on an Internet radio station the other day, and the movie was on TV a week or two back. Arlo shows up at Epcot almost every year. I have some footage in SD if anyone wants it. Samples here: http://www.stevengotz.com/arlo.htm

I don't want a pickle...

not sure if I got the words exactly right.

Curses on you folks, you're making me miss FL right when I'm finally getting over it.

K. Forman January 20th, 2006 01:19 PM

Well Joe... We miss you too. And it's such a beautiful day, sun is shining, 72 degrees outside. Yep! Serves ya right for moving off ;)

Dave Herring January 20th, 2006 02:40 PM

It's 80 on the left coast of FLA... sorry Joe.

Joe Carney January 20th, 2006 03:38 PM

hmmm, I think my son needs more help on his spear fishing show, thats it, he really needs the ole man to come down and lend a hand.

Heath McKnight January 20th, 2006 11:08 PM

I just stumbled across this post and decided to throw my two cents in. I've lived in Florida for 21 years, mostly in Wellington (west of West Palm Beach) and I love it. Yeah, the hurricanes stink, but I remember how many insurance company problems there were in 1992 after Andrew. Whew! I was only 16 but I knew why my friend's parents were angry when their home insurance company shut down.
