A sub?!? I think a sub beats a helicopter :) I think this clip just raised the bar another notch... Good job!

It is an italian flatbread, which is then toasted and served with yummy stuff like eggplant and vegetables inside, like a sandwitch.

Ehhh... From the sounds of it, not really. I don't do vegetables. Meat and taters for me. It did sound good till you mentioned them.

OK ok, I'm hungry enough right now, let's get back on topic. :)

I have to say, and I think others will agree, somethings were lost in the translation to the enlish subtitles. I would consider getting someone with more English experiencec to re-translate them. We got the gist anyway, but there were some things that I needed to re-read, and a couple little mistakes that made me snicker. Like when the one girl is calling the other "baby". It just doesn't suit the theme.

Next.... OK, I don't know how I'm going to top a sub.... That's setting the bar pretty high, but now I've got something to shoot for. :)

I liked the lighting and most of the camera work, but there are a few outdoor scenes where the framing was off.
Nice light on the priests face when he's on the phone for the first time. There's one really nice shot under the bridge that stood out for me.

One last thing, I'm not sure if you meant it or not, but when the nice new digital wireless telephone rings with the ring tone of a phone from the 70's, I busted out laughing. I hope you meant it as a joke. If so, very good. If not, major continuity error.

Overall, I liked it very much, although I found a bit of it confusing due to the translation.

I think this is a terrific episode. Great job. Nice X-files style creepiness and minimalism. I loved the music. Steffen, was this composed specifically for your film, or did you cull it from the clicktrack.de cd's? Can you tell us how you went about licensing it.

I'm not sure I got the very end: the katarina running and waking up sequence. As Dylan pointed out, some of the subtitle translations were a bit clunky, and I think they could have been a few points smaller so they wouldn't take over the screen as much. But these are quibbles. Overall your film looked and sounded great. The cinematography was consistent and excellent throughout, with some very nice compositions. Kudo's on the submarine as well. Very impressive.

F**k, I loved it. I was grinning all the way through it. There were technical problems, for sure, but it was enjoyable. I loved the blue ball at the end. That totally knocked me out, I was rocking back in my chair laughing.

I don't know how to top a sub, either. :)

Very nice use of locations.

I liked that one shot on the bridge where the blonde girl took off and the camera did a short pan as she took off. Very nice shot.

Okay, Steffen. Question time...

1. What was your particular blood mixture? Looked really good and ran well. Also, how did you get it to flow so evenly from under his head. Did you have a tube running underneath? If so, how did you get it to fan out so evenly?

2. And how about your gun? Looking up the nozzle of yours, I see it ain't no lighter! Is it real?

3. Did you have any problems with authorities or people while filming?

4. Any cool behind-the-scenes stories?

5. How did you convince Herr Büttner to let you use the sub?

Props to the gravity-defying distraction ball. Where can I buy one? Would have come in handy back in grade school...

Hi everybody :-)

First I want to thank you all for the positive response
to the episode I made with my team.

Now to some of the points:

the telephone:

Yes, it sounds strange and makes the
scene a little unreal because the sound is not like
we would expect it. If people laugh there, it´s o.k.
But there is a deeper meaning of it which is
connected with the end scene, where"Katharina"
opens her eyes.

the blue ball:

There was no trick. This is the real flight of the ball.
No anti-gravity machine inside.
The scene was choosen as an element of humour.

the scene at the end,where "Katharina" runs over the small
bridge:

She hears the words of the priest in her head.
She is too dangerous to some people of a secret group
(inside of the church) because of her knowledge about
the future to come.
Now she needs a place to hide and then comes a new
vision which shows her.....

the subtitles:

Yes, you are right. Now they loook to big and hide too
much of the picture.

the translation:

Well, it´s not the best. I know. I´m not really happy with it.
Maybe, I find someone who can do it better.

Is it possible to send you a new version of the episode
with smaller subtitles and and a new translation?

the story of the episode 2:

We know that it is hard to understand all the points
of the story if someone sees the movie for the first time.
There are many pieces which are not explained.
People have to look and concentrate if they watch it.
You have to take a closer look and watch it a second time
or a third or more.
But even then are there many pieces which leave
you unexplained.

Well, this is exactly what we wanted.

When we started to develop a story we dived into a new
own complex world. The story about the mysterious girl
"Katharina" and her strange visions" starts long before
"Lady X". Now it comes to the point where she needs the
help of someone to protect her.
She is in the clinic because some people do not want to tell
the public about her visions. You remember the
newspaper article about "Katharina" and her visions in the park szene? The same article
is in the office of the priest at the moment when the telephone
rings.
Let me just say here that the story about "Katharina"
and her search goes on.
It was really difficult to put the main elements of the story
in a short movie with a maximum running time
of seven minutes.
We developed a story which is long and complex enough
for a own serial. So, the episode 2 of "Lady X" has elements
of a pilot and of a trailer mixed together.

Wait for the rest of the year when there is more to come....

Yes - please send your revised version to the applicable EP. Give us a bit of time, as things are pretty busy!

BTW - I really enjoyed your episode. Several people here have already asked the questions that came to mind as I watched it. The use of that sub has my head spinning.
