New Batman short film
I just finished downloading and watching a short by Director/FX master Sandy Collora. It was a very interesting fan film. The shots and editing were nice, but what really shined was the details put into the characters. A must see for any fan!
It is a 44 MB QT, currently available only on Kazaa, and through a few other priviledged sources. The name is Batman-Dead End. |
Just catched it. Very nice work by the people involved. Surprised me in more than one way...
Anyone know what format it was shot on? |
I originally thought film, but the credits said "videography", which implies video. I will try to get in touch with the people who made it, and maybe get some answers.
|
I would only call it a fan film for its content. In every other way it was a totally pro job. Love the 'guest stars' :)
|
It is a fan film, because it is not licensed, nor endorsed by the copyright owners-DC Comics and Warner Bros.

You've got to see this: BATMAN - DEAD END
Okay... I have no idea on what medium this was shot but I doubt it was video--- but I'm not sure because I can't find any details about it.
BUT it is DAMN COOL. I'll go as far as to say AMAZING. It's a fan made Batman film that I get the feeling they pumped a lot of money into but if you watch it a couple of times you can see the tricks they used to make it look so cool. http://www.theforce.net/theater/shor...nd/index.shtml Check it out... If anyone has any details about this film (which premiered, I am told, at the San Diego Comic-Con) please share them or post some links. |
I just posted the link to this movie off THEFORCE.NET in another thread.
It's worth every second of download!!!! (( sorry, didn't see this thread before I posted the new one )) |
Batman: Dead End
Have you seen this eight minute short? Was it shot on DV?

I haven't been able to find ANY details on the production but I did find out that the director works (or worked) at Stan Winston's shop so I think that's where he got the costumes.
If i had to guess, I'd say it was film but who knows. |
Thanks Kevin, I was searching google last night but couldn't come up with anything as far as finding a download.
|
Man that was unexpected. That was pretty sweet though. Make up was excellent. My favorite shot had to be near the beginning, when he's crouched down in the puddle and rises up. Very strong with the shadow.

totally great.
I think we should start a SPOILER thread to discuss the details of it after you've seen it... there are surprises I'd hate to ruin for anyone!!! |
I hate crossovers. This one just wasn't good from a story standpoint....wait there wasn't one. Just someone showing off they can do what they did. To bad, I was really hoping when it started off. The scenes with batman in the beginning were great to bad they moved out of batman into other things.

I loved it, but got a question.
It looked like they went to such great lengths production value wise, so why did his costume suck so badly? Come on, it was shocking. Zac Ps. my favorate shot is during the second fight sequence, they cut to him quickly with just a brick wall behind him, a medium shot with him in the right of frame, for some reason i really liked that shot. |
you mean batman's costume? if so that was his original costume that he had back in the detective comics. I liked it way better than the other costumes that they used in the other films. At least batman looked right in this short.
