Jimi Hendrix (Superbowl Ad)

(didn't mean to start a new thread...)

The Jimi commercial with Foxey Lady played on guitar and accordian was pretty funny.
"Whew...that was a close one."

SPY_N: China Strike Force... how?!

Has anyone seen SPY_N: China Strike Force? How in the world did they film the fight scene on the suspended pane of glass? If that's green screen, it's the best I've ever seen. And if it wasn't, those actors were nuts.

Cold Case.

Has anyone seen this show? My parents met the producers/camera ops(at least thats what my parents told me they are) and they said they want to talk to me about a possible internship or something. I havent seen the show yet but now I'm excited to watch it. I think it comes on Sunday nights. Anyways, just curious if anyone has seen it.

Saturn Mission Arrives July 1st

For those interested in viewing current images of Saturn and some of its moons, NASA's "Cassini-Huygens" spacecraft will arrive at Saturn's moon, Phoebe, on June 11th and will go into orbit around the planet Saturn on July 1st.

The main web site is: http://saturn.jpl.nasa.gov/index.cfm .

This is a biggie, especially the encounter with Saturn's moon, Titan. The space probe, "Huygens", will be parachuted through Titan's atmosphere. I believe this probe was built by the European Space Agency and is a US/European cooperative effort.

The pictures on the web site are really amazing and hint at what will follow as the Cassini spacecraft passes through the Rings of Saturn and then goes into orbit around the planet.

Nick (P.S., if this thread does not comply with The Totem Pole criteria, please move to Area 51 or where ever. Thanks.)

Satellite HD

I got Voom!, but when they came to install it, the guy said my condo's front faces southeast, but I can't have a dish out there. He told me the back, which faces southwest, won't work, so he left.

Dish Network goes southwest, and I didn't have to pay for a special HD dish or anything, it came with the order for free. I went with them.

Direct TV goes southwest, but you have to pay $300 for the HD dish.

Keep that in mind when you go to order, so you're not sitting around for the installer, only to learn you can't get it! D'oh!

ps-Adelphia is dependent on if it's available. Last I checked, they only had NBC and CBS (local), which were broadcasting in HD in Palm Beach County, Florida.

Die Mommie Die!

We just watched this film. What a hoot! And whose name rolls past our faces in the credits? None other than our own Charles Papert as Steadicam Operator.

Charles, I cannot even imagine the experience of working on that film. How in the world did you manage to keep the camera...err, steady...while laughing?

But watching the "Anatomy of a Scene" (from the Sundance Channel) feature in the extras was a bit puzzling. Each cast and crew member was so serious about this romp. You'd think they were talking about working on Mystic River. Geez, kids, it was pure silly fancy!
