Looking to produce Indie Films!

Hello Everyone,

I have posted my introductory in the in your neighborhood section. Nevertheless, to briefly recap, I am a screenwriter who has been certified by the Vancouver Film School after successfully completing a four month's screenwriter's program. My other credentials include a Criminology Degree and a Certificate of Liberal Arts from Simon Fraser University. In any case, I am hoping to find people who live in Vancouver and the Lowermainland area of British Columbia (Canada) who might be interested in working together to produce independent films. Nevertheless, for anyone else who is not in this vicinity, I will whole heartedly offer to provide you feedback whenever I can, providing it is on a topic that I know something about. In fact, I have actually met two people who I am actively colloborating with through the net. One is American and the other is Swedish and we are working on web based comics which is going fairly well.

Anyway, in regards to independent film, I am trying to find people to work with who can trust in my judgement and abilities as I can with theirs'. Samples of my work can be found on http://www.writerbytes.com (Straight Up!), although the majority of them are personal journal/log type writing and not scripts. I have one fairy tale Hook, Line and Sinker--My Fairy Tale that I usually recommend to people. I have just finished posting my first script format piece which is the first six pages of a script titled Gay or Straight: A Question of One. I will be periodically adding others as I get my works completed. At this point, I think that I have decided only to post five or six pages of my scripts mainly as a sample and to allow me to get as many works on the site at any given time as the space is quite limited. I have also decided that the pages won't be limited to the opening pages but will also include sections that have tense and moving moments.

I hope that if you read my work that you enjoy them. Please feel free to contact me with any of your comments as I would greatly appreciate the feedback. And if you like my writing or some of the ideas I have, I am hoping to work with people who would like see their work filmed and possibly entered into festivals like the Vancouver Film Festival etc.

Best wishes to everyone and I hope to be in touch with all of you real soon.

Sincerely,

Samir Goel (sgoel@alumni.sfu.ca)

It's Hard To Say Goodbye!

Hello Everyone,

I have just posted the last six or seven pages of another script titled It's Hard To Say Goodbye (http://www.writerbytes.com). I don't remember if I have revised the script from its original format, but in any case will somewhere down the line revise it further. There is big chunks of dialogue which I am thinking to break up with some movement by the characters. Nevertheless, the dialogue moves quite well and conveys a strong depth of emotion behind it. I believe that this is the most emotional point in the whole work. Hopefully, you will be able to identify with or even appreciate the characters, although I realize that it may be difficult to do within six or seven pages. In any case, I will greatly appreciate any feedback that you are willing to offer. I look forward to your comments and talking to you in the near future. Take care and best wishes.

Sincerely,

Samir.
