If anyone knows of some really great, and informative behind the scenes articles, photo diaries, etc. for various film and television productions could you post them here for both myself and others who may be searching.

The first link on the page is for the MDPD Video Services Unit, which I run...not TV or movies but still behind the scenes of some interesting stuff.

The second link "Three Generations of Cameramen" is a tribute to my Grandfather and Father. It takes you behind the scenes of some films in Cuba as well as motion pictures that my Dad worked on during his career.

If you scroll down to the "MIAMI VICE" link, you can access two years worth of pictures and stories from when my Dad and I worked the series. You can also access MV from the "Three Generations" page.

Since we've had such an explosion of members in the last year or two, perhaps I can repost a link to an article buried deep in the DVI archives (on the XL1/XL1s Watchdog--probably not accessed much anymore!):

This is a production diary I kept while on the Jerry Seineld webfilms for American Express, which we shot with several XL1's with Mini35's about 2 years ago. Although the technology is just a shade outdated, it still might be a fun read for those interested in mini-DV as used in a high-end environment. Unfortunately the films themselves are no longer available for viewing at American Express, but I suppose it's possible they are elsewhere on the web.

Ah yes, I remember the Jerry Seinfeld/Superman webfilms. I enjoyed them.

A little digging revealed they are on the Unplugged Studio web site, http://www.unpluggedstudio.com. It is a Flash-based site so I can't give a direct URL, but they are under the Branded Content section.

Having said that, I am trying (un-successfully due to a crazy-ass schedule for the last week or so) to put the "Hugh's Summer Vacation" page together on my site.

It's going to show ALL of his shennanigans in living color for the world to see!

On a serious note. I am involved with the 2006 MIAMI VICE movie and between working with them and trying to run my Unit...let's just say that things have been a little chaotic as of late. I'm hoping to get a little breathing room within the next few days.

Anyway, Lorinda and Hugh are terrific people and I am very proud to claim them as my FRIENDS...and all thanks to DV Info!!!

Hope you can join the party some day. That is a standing invitation.

RB, when the shooting starts on Miami Vice, will you be allowed to post anything on your site similar to what Rick Pearson requested? I know it would be lots of work for you, but it sure would be cool!!!
