help with my projector!!?

i have a really old sharp xg-e630u lcd projector.. it has s-video, rca A/v, and a 16 pin RGB computer input. IT works fine with everything except the pc input.. When i have it plugged in (and ive tried these with every pc laying around my house) It will project the windows startup sequnce.. and then go black. I'm basically plugging it in as if its the monitor but i cant figure out why it will play the startup sequence but not anything else.. any sugestions?

ive been mulling over this problem for about a week.. and then realized where i might be able to ask..

Maybe the resolution the computers are trying to use is too high for your projector? Have you tried setting the computer res to 640x480 and low number of colors?

thanks.. ill try that when i get home... i never thought of that. The weird thing though is that when my friend (who i bought it from) had it setup in his house he used rca cables from his pc (vieo card) and he never had any probs with it and never had to lower the resolution. my pc that ive got setup at home doesnt have these.. im thinking though that this might be my solution. thank you
