Dashboard mounts

I'm working on a documentary which will require me to be driving to one location several times throughout the fall and winter.
One of the shots I envisioned was from the dashboard of my car, time elapsed, crossing between the seasons changing.

In the past I've mounted my camera with lots of ducktape and the results were the best you can get out of duct tape, it was a personal project so it worked for what I needed it to. But since this documentary is somewhat legit I want to have the camera a bit more stable.

Does anyone have experience with either purchased or homemade dashboard mounts? I'd love to hear any input.
Thanks.

The Stickypod, or Bogen's suction cup mount (3500 aka 241FB) would hold a camera to the windshield. I have the 3025 head on the Bogen cup which allows me to point the camera anywhere. It sticks to glass, metal, or any smooth surface (I got it to stick to laminated paper!) I have not used the Stickpod, but it looks like the same sort of thing.

It would seem you would want the camera inside the car, so this might work:

The Stickypod referenced above made for the dashboard.

Here's the Bogen 3500:

There are a lot of such devices available of varying quality and wildly varying price.

Nice find. I hadn't looked at the Stickypod in a while and didn't know they made one specifically for that. The regular Stickypod could be mounted inside looking out, but you may have needed a few extra joints, or just mounted the camera upside-down. This one makes it a lot easier.
