I would suggest you seriously consider either the Sachtler DV6 or the Vinten Vision 3.

They both have superb build quality, don't weigh too much, and will, if looked after, give you years of good service. Hope this helps.

Hello, i have decided in past to buy a Sachtler DV-6SB with 75mm speedlock tripod. I have posted this thread because, i was not sure, but now its definitive. It's not so cheap, but im ready to pay for quality

For that money I would look at the Gitzo G-1338 fluid head and Carbon Fiber Tripod legs. I have been very happy with this system for the last year.

It is quick and easy to set up with a very smooth fluid head and a 25 lb capacity.

I borrowed the Gitzo 1338 from a friend for a shoot a few months ago. It was really good. I guess you get what you pay for.

Mark they are great. Setting up the internal spring to balance for your camera is the key to smooth performance.

I am sure there are heads and legs in the same price that work great but I am very happy with the Gitzo.
