Sachtler uses a similar material in the feet of their tripods. It is a sort of vibration reduction elastic material anf the feet are clipped onto the spikes.

Ah! After a severe session of Googling, (research of esoteric information is one of my day-jobs...) I have found the material that both Sachtler and Orion use for their vibration dampening devices:

I figured I'd raise this thread from the dead.
 
Here's what I ran into twice so far. I shot in an old church, my back camera was in the middle. The floor was crappy, and each time someone walked by, you could see it in the camera, because the tripod was feeling the shifting of the floor.

So has anyone ever heard of some cushion or something that could go under the legs. Oh yeah, each time the photographer leaped into the isle I saw it in my camera.
