Colorado Clips

Took 4 hours of tape on my HVR V1 recently on a trip to the White River Forest out of Meeker Colo. # clips of a butterfly, we got into some elk and the bulls were bugling. I haven't hunted elk for years but they still are exciting when the bulls are carrying on, and clips of the white river

Hugh,
White River Forest would definitive been one of my favorite places if I have lived "over there", the scenery is stunning.

I have some comments to your footage:
First of all, get a sturdy tripod. You could enhanced the quality much by using one in the clips at the telephotoend.
Beware of using your zoom when recording, it's much better to stop record, zoom in, focus and start recording again.
In the last footage of the stream, watch your shutter speed in the first clip, I think you've used a too high shutter to my taste, also the white balance seem a bit blue in the start of this footage.
And my last comment will be, watch your horizon (level) when shooting. In your last footage of the stream the end clips is out of level, which dosn't look any good!

Take this as good advices and not as a criticism of your work!

Keep up your good work and please post more footage for us to study!

Best Regards

I have tripods, but, I was on the move alot, some were done on my manfrotto, wasn't really interested in carrying my tripod while hiking straight up to where the elk were, Most shots were on full auto, just because on alot of the shots there was not enough time, or something, to interfere with trying to set up shots. Its funny how one plans these trips, all the shots you want, etc, then the weather comes in, things change, I was very unhappy with the weather, seemed there was a fire somewhere, maybe yellowstone, and in the afternoons the haze was terrible. Shot it all in 24pa.
