Philippine tarsier

I shot this short video at the Philippine Tarsier and Wildlife Sanctuary, Bohol, Philippines.
The purpose was to enhance general awareness and promote the Sanctuary conservation effort.

Re: Philippine tarsier

Thank you for your kind comments Kent.

Tarsiers are very special nocturnal primates:
-largest eye-to-body ratio of all mammals
-eyes are fixed in the skull, cannot rotate
-neck rotates 180 degrees
-one of the smallest primates (mouse lemurs are smaller)
-long gestation period 6 months, only one offspring at a time
-reproduces poorly in captivity
-name comes from elongated foot ankle bone (tarsus)
-only exist on a few islands in the Philippines, Borneo and Indonesia

Despite of the extreme close-ups, I was never nearer than two meters.
I used Nikkor 70-200 2.8 VR lens with TC-17E extender on my EX3.

Excellent footage! I just thought of something while watching your video. His eyes are so big that his depth of field must be EXTREMELY shallow at night! His f-stop must be something like .25....lol
