This video gives you a look at some of the beautiful scenes and wildlife in western Nevada. You'll see some spectacular scenery, sunsets, and starry skies. Ray, very much enjoyed watching. thanks for posting. Excellent filming and color grading. My only comment is the Nevada graphic on the opening title, its a bit OTT for quality cinematography follows. Just needs to be plain.with a very subtle drop shadow.

Very interesting and the colors really pop. The opening shot of the craggy landscape really showed off the relief features of the earth’s crust created by past tectonic action, and also the erosion that followed.
In the Devils Garden Ranger District of the Modoc National Forest, near Tulelake, there is ground cover that looks very similar to that in the video, with clumps of growth. The clumps are several inches higher ( ~6 to 9 inches) than the surrounding soil. The district Wildlife Biologist told me that the soil (topsoil) between the clumps has been eroded away. The erosion was at least partly, or even mostly, caused by overgrazing. As I watched the video, while the clumps of growth looked similar (size and spacing), I couldn’t discern a similar height difference. Nevertheless, it was surprising to see such a similar appearance. The clip at the end of the Nevada video really showed off the Universe! The dark nighttime sky with the Milky Way and untold numbers of stars was really awesome. |
