zoomed antelope

I carry the gl or the xl with me pretty much all the time as you never know what you might run into in this countryside.
I shot this image with a 20x lens and a 1.6 multiplier. It was quite hot and you can see some heat waves effecting the footage. It was shot free hand as I had no place to set up the tripod without bumping the buck. |
Great stuff Dale. I love wildlife video. Where did you capture this at?

Jeff,
It was shot an hour north of the eastern Montana/Canadian border. I have tried to get good antelope footage numerous times, this time I just blundered into this buck but I was smart enough to have a camera with me. |
Very cool. I wish we had wildlife like that here in southern Ohio. We have our share I guess but no antelope. I live near a National Forest so I get to see some stuff.

Dale, didn't know that these creature could be found in the US!
About your footage: I know it's hard to handhold it steady at the full telephotoend. If you could find something to support your body or camcorder for example your car, the footage would be a lot more steady. In my car I always have a beanbag, which I can lay down in the car window or at the roof or any other steady place, gives me a good and steady support for the camcorder. Wish I could come a trip to the US, I think it's so much exciting to shoot over there, that I can't get here in Northern Europe! In the other way we might have some things here that... ...what I try to say is that the grass seems always to be greener on the other side of the fence! Keep up your good work Dale! |
