Woohoo!

I just got back from the persons house that I had my camera shipped too (no tax in Oregon). I have not had time to mess around with it at all yet, but I was able to open it and make sure it was all there.

The camera is a lot smaller then I thought it was, and lighter too.

I'm raping it up here and then headin' to bed. So no time to turn it on tonight, but tomorrow I have the hole day to learn about it. :D

What can I say, I'm stoked, my very first DV cam. Its a great feeling. :)

Great day!

Gabriel,

Congratulations!

I've been reading a few of your posts and I'm glad to hear that you've got a DV Cam.

BTW. Keep all your tapes. I was just going through an old box with some 8mm and Hi8 tapes and I borrowed a friends Digital 8 Cam to use as a deck (has Firewire), I was amazed to find what was probably the first tape I shot 17 years ago. Terrible footage mostly, but also on the tape was some footage of a gathering where I first met the woman who would later become my wife.

I kept a bunch of other tapes of live footage of bands that I thought may one day be famous (though none did). Still, I'm going to capture some of the footage of different things for sentimental value, if nothing else.

Back in those days, there was really no such thing as NLE. It was LE and it was a PITA!

Anyways, have fun with it!

Thanks, Ken! I'll Try and keep all my tapes.

I have been playing around with the camera all day today. Found out that it has a lot of cool settings. I can't wait for my tapes to get here so I can record things.

I'll keep you all updated.

Hi, Bob. As sad as it is to say, I have not shot much. I got 12 minutes recorded. But thats all... If I have some time, I will try to edit some of it and put it on youtube. I have tryed lighting a scene for a short that I want to do, just putting someone in the place that the actor would be and mess with the lighting to see how it looks. But then I found out that the tripod I have, can not pan very good, at all. So I really need a new tripod before I can start filming. That means that I will be waiting a few more months. That really puts me down... :'( But I have got to say, I am really happy with the color that the camera can dish out! Its a lot more then I would have ever thought it to be! So I am very thankful for that. :D

PS: This is my 200th post! Yay!
