UWOL at the moment is probably the best and user friendly showcase for good wildlife footage, but it isnt going to last forever. Take a look at what's coming over the horizon.

Thanks for the link Don, I maybe give this a try!

Well, UWOL have been - is - and will be one of the major sites where I will be around... ...I've got so many professional friends and peer at this forum, which I can't find any other place on our globe.
I'm sure that hosting video files was not what Chris (Hurd) had in mind when this community was born and planned.

per Johan,

I have learned more from this forum than anywhere. I would not abandon it; hence, I am looking for a site so I can at least link to it and show some reasonable length footage.

That doesn't mean this forum could not evolve into an even greater site by increasing the dimensions of its mandate.

Even if the uploader would allow a clip the size of the current limitations would be good, at present it is not working properly. I also understand fixing stuff like that is a rather huge job that sombody has to do. I do nknow how and who would do it.

A Place to Put Your Bird Videos

OK, heads up guys. I just ran across this web site.

http://www.birdcinema.com/index.php

It's bird videos only, but it seems like a much better site than say, You Tube. The nice thing about it is that you can upload 100Mb max. There are a few issues, like they take widescreen and crop it to 4:3. I'm going to check into this, it might be just a matter of dimension issues to fit their screen area. It looks like they convert, a WMV file which I uploaded, to Flash, but I don't know this for sure. What ever conversion it is, seems fairly good. Anyway, I joined and upload an Allen's Hummingbird, and the process was a cake walk. They do have a limit on the number of characters in the file name, and some symbols that are not allowed in the file name, titles and descriptions.

I've just heard from them too Don. Must check them out ... I have some nice clips of black guillemots that just wont show clearly under 2Mbs at any dimensions here and Qt really does wash colours out on me, unlike wmp and vlc ... here goes I guess

I just watched your Allen's clip. Looks good to me. It will be helpful I'm sure to have a few different sites to post clips, especially if you have a nice little film put together that might require more than the space alloted here.

Beautiful birds, Dale.
We don't see them in Norway, so thanks for sharing.
I reckon they have a beautiful song too?
