Bird footage

For a while I was searching for a way to post some footage.
On an advice from some DV members I tried a sharing site called Stage6.

Except for one drawback I find it fairly good option.
There is no limitation on file size and there no extra compression applied on uploaded material.
You have an option to view streaming (left arrow) or download (right arrow).

But it is a Divx site so one need to convert to Divx (there is a very easy application to do that) and viewers also must have the divx codec installed on their computer.
If you don't have the codec you will be prompted to download a mac or a pc version.

The videos are a mirror of my (part of) birding on the last year.
Most are rare at this part of the world.
Probably the Pal land birders will enjoy some.

for those that followed the lens thread you can go to
'Golden plover' - the clip was shot with 500mm except for the flying part where I zoomed to 300mm.
'Marsh harrier' - slowmo of a flying bird 400mm-500mm range, the image is degraded by bad atmospheric condition.
'Honey buzzard 1' - same without slowmo (added music).
'Honey buzzard 2' - slowmo of flying birds with 200mm - 400mm range (added music).
'Thick-billed lark' - just my favorite bird (longest clip-long download) but it is funny how one male falls asleep in front of the camera (high noon on the desert!).

It seems that when downloading you get the full resolution but if you choose streaming you get less resolution.

My favourites in ascending order ...

'Marsh harrier' - slowmo of a flying bird 400mm-500mm range, the image is degraded by bad atmospheric condition.
'Honey buzzard 1' - same without slowmo (added music).
'Honey buzzard 2' - slowmo of flying birds with 200mm - 400mm range (added music).

... the underwing plumage on Honey buzzard 2 is the most beautiful I have seen

Don't miss these, it's taken me months to find them and seconds to use Stage6/DivX ... 41 larger-than-usual-screen videos ... 3 great bird-flight footage sequences are my favourites, Sassi, thank you

Sasi,

I loved the footage you you juvinile sooty falcon. I did not look it up but the falcon looks a lot like a Hoby or an elenora's falcon. I really liked the dark melanistic phase bird!!

My next favorite of course is the sand grouse, what an amazing bird these are. while very few people know it, the sand grouse is represented in the United states, Yes it is true: they are found in the hawaiian islands of all places.

I have been trying to use stage 6, but I have not been able tomake it work, even after the down loads. I will have to go back and try again!!!
