Chris:
It's your best. Oh the owl, how splendid to be there with camera and poise to capture "a lifetime bird" on film. Simply stunning. But the others were also first rate. Narration and music made is a wrap. I'm filled to the brim! Cat |
Great little video Chris..well presented with an element of adventure and very steady camera work

Hi Chris.
Wow, those owl clips at 2.06 was really great and so was the rest of your film. Very well put together, with VO, music and nice editing. I've said it in another feedback that I don't envy the judge this time :) A big challenge to pick the winner. I liked your film very much, thank you for sharing it with us. All the best Geir Inge |
Hi Chris
Nice piece with a strong premise, although I did find it a little over dramatic in places mainly due to the music. A bit of Drama is great but it seemed to rise and rise and needed to be a moment to focus the overall piece, a case of less is more I guess...I hope you understand what I mean. Your owl shot in flight was fantastic, sharp and smooth and he just keeps on coming towards the camera, great stuff! Your shot on 1.05 'The moment' you were using as a emphasis. While this shot did settle to start with there was a lot of camera movement. This was your dramatic moment and for me it was depleted by this. |
Alright Chris I just want to know how. How in the world did you get the shot of that owl(?) coming straight for you. I can hardly track a bird from left to right! It's moments like that where I'm left with the camera in one hand and the tape in the other - with my jaw on the floor in awe.
Nice work. You really put your heart into that and it shows. You can feel it. |
Wow, Chris.
Great visuals and music working together. And your voice over added just the right touch. I really enjoyed seeing this one. |
Magnificent bird footage! That owl will live on in your archives forever I bet, the rest of the film was put together very nicely as well.
Well done my friend. |
I think this is your best entry so far Chris - a movie with a nice story, well narrated and some stunning and varied bird footage to go with it.
I do agree with David about the car scenes although I can understand why you wanted to include them. Really enjoyed your video. |
The shot of the owl was fantastic. Poetry in motion and the perfect music. One of my personal favorites. You did an incredable job of tracking. Wildlife videography = being in the right place at the right time...with a camcorder in your hands. A great job. Bob

Hi Chris,
Beautiful film! I loved the shots you had they were very film like. Colours were beautiful, music was perfect, & the narration was great! I especially loved the shot of the owl on the wing. I would love to see a full rez version of this one. The colours in the second last shot didn't seem to stand up well to the compression, but then that last shot came, & it was a ripper! Bryce |
