And the winner of UWOL #7 is...

I’m honored to be a part of the UWOL challenge this time ‘round. As the Director of the Boulder Adventure Film Festival, I see hundreds upon hundreds of world class adventure films. And I'm pleased to say I was impressed with the production quality and creativity of these adventure entries.

MY SELECTIONS
1st place: Eagle has Landed (beautiful boom work, scenery and a simple but elegant adventure biography. all the pieces worked together and it had a beginning, middle and end).

2cnd: Impact (love the voice behind the scene, adventurous aspect with flying, nice stable air shooting and an interesting natural story)

3rd: Tempus Fugit (absolutely cool. top notch time lapses. a little shy on adventure, but beautiful)

Kevin Railsback March 4th, 2008 04:00 PM

Whoo Hooo!

Congrats to Per on being the first to take home top honors twice!!!

Marj, just think of what glory could have been bestowed upon you last year if you hadn't of lurked all these months! :-) Awesome job!

Rob, I hope you slow down for at least a minute now to enjoy the accolades! :)

Congrats to all three of you!!!

Rob Evans March 4th, 2008 04:12 PM

I love that moment of suspense, hovering over that "and the winner is" thread before clicking and taking a deep breath. I really enjoyed this round, and from the results it looks like everyone else did too ;-) Congrats Per and Marj, great entries there - and thanks Jonathan for making sense of it all!
Here's to April, when I get the chance to meet some of those Vikings in the flesh ( perhaps could do an entry on the filming habits of an average viking UWOL'er?? :-)

Cheers!

Rob

Carl Middleton March 4th, 2008 04:35 PM

Congrats to all of you three. Well deserved. :)

Eric Gulbransen March 4th, 2008 04:46 PM

What a great deal. Per, you guys deserve all the credit you get for this work.

Marj, superhuman. I hope you're proud.

Rob, congrats.

I have to say though, Steve, and your alligators - you guys got hosed. Shake it off and come back stronger.. (nah, you know what? Strike that. Just come back. DON'T come back stronger)

Congrats to EVERYONE. And thanks for the welcome

Bob Thieda March 4th, 2008 04:50 PM

Three excellent choices....congrats to all....

Frankly I don't know how Johnathon could make a choice...there were a good half dozen that could have won...

Per Johan Naesje March 5th, 2008 07:46 AM

Thanks very much and congrats to all others!

I'm very honored to win this round, particularly because of the high level for many of the films. I'm happy not to be the judge picking the 3 winners

Thanks Jonathan for picking me as the winner!

Steve Siegel March 5th, 2008 05:05 PM

Congratulations, Per, Marj and Rob. The outstanding performances in a large group of really good stuff. Meryem, you're the man (oops, woman) again. How long till April 1?

David Gemmell March 6th, 2008 05:20 AM

Well done Guys - a great effort.

Bruce Foreman March 6th, 2008 01:36 PM

Congrats to all 3 of you! No surprise on the first place selection, after watching Per Johan's film and then watching it again and again, I fully expected that one to come out on top.

Marge's film really soared in more ways than one. She showed real adventurous spirit as she took us aloft in an ultralight.

And Rob's film showed some of the smoothest and most colorful, eye pleasing time lapse work I've seen.

And these 3 come out on top of an awesome array of strong entries.

This one was a lotta fun.

Bob Safay March 6th, 2008 04:07 PM

Holy video Batman, Per did it again! Yes Robin, Per and the others did a magnificent job. My only comment, I am sure glad I didn't have to be the judge on this on. All three turned in excellant videos, as did all the people that submitted. So, a big Batman and Robin congradulations to the three of you. Well done, now let's jump into the Batmobil, grab the Batcorder and lets go to #8!!!! GREAT JOB YA'LL. Bob

Trond Saetre March 7th, 2008 03:50 AM

Congratulations to all 3 of you.
You made great films!

Did a search for batcorder on the web - this is what it came back with:

Does that do 16x9 and hdv?? ;-)

Chris Barcellos March 7th, 2008 11:56 AM

Congratulations to all winners, and to all participants.... another fine crop of UWOL entries which I, for one, am honored to be associated with. I feel like kid sneaking onto a movie set-- if I keep hanging around here, before someone kicks me out, I might really get some great lessons taught....

Bob Safay March 7th, 2008 12:26 PM

Hey Rob, that is a fake bat. See how well it is disguised. She is actually blowing on the lens to clean it. The Tape tramsport in cleverly hidden in the handle Bob

Yes a fake bat it is, however I believe there is no tape transport system. Clearly it records to solid state media, hmm wouldn't it be interesting to have an extremely fast camera taking slow motion shots of batters swings, maybe just the angle MLB needs to attract viewers these days. Blurnsball anyone?

Vegard Paulsen March 12th, 2008 05:08 PM

Congratulations !!! Really good work this time, and a high quality level on all the contestants.

To bad i missed the deadline. I had to complete a tv commercial and a event-video instead. Hopefully ill have the chance to join in next round! :)

Gilles Debord March 13th, 2008 02:44 AM

Congratulations to all of you, and to all the winners. Very Great quality footage.
