Cat and Marj,
You guys make me feel like a cad. No, I have no special abilities! I was just trying to look smart. If you read my intro carefully, you will see that I never said these words actually came from George Allen's journal. Yes, there was a George Allen; yes, he was the trip botanist; yes he must have kept a journal. But I have never seen it. The reason the narrative fits so well is that I wrote it to fit! I used my best 19th Century grammar, and my intent was to sound consistent with the premise, the way Jeff Hendricks did in "Touching Generations" (UWOL 4). I apologize for not disclaiming the narrative in the beginning. Please don't think I am totally phony. Bartram's material was indeed taken from his actual journal. |
Steve,
I really enjoyed your film. The scenery is overwhelming. There are so many great shots. Your use of DV20 interests me. I know this camera well. The picture quality is acceptable in good lighting. Actually, I did use the DV20 for the whole “Barnacle Kingdom” in UC#15. |
Steve, great video. I can't believe the quality you got with the small camcorder. Makes me wonder why I am still lugging the XL-2 around. I have been to Yellowstone many times when I lived in Colorado, but I never got to video there. Maybe next year. Bob
