Re: A few tips for better shooting

Steve,
I see you use the Canon XF300. I am looking to possibly buy this one to replace my old Canon XM2.
Can I ask which NLE you use?
I use the Premiere Pro CS3, and wondering if I will be able to handle the MXF files, as you can see from the thread I started over in the Adobe forum:

Re: A few tips for better shooting

I have learned over the last year that the people who want to pay money for footage are not interested in HDV 4:2:0 material any more. This is what the Canon XLH1 and a lot of other tape and older flash memory machines shoot. They say it's hard to work with, doesn't blow up well and doesn't mesh with film. The way to go seems to be to add a Nanoflash, but this adds yet another layer of complications to shooting.
As wildlife vidoegraphers, we have been pretty much abandoned in favor of the 3-D and Big Chip people.
