1. Runner up:
Kevin J Railsback - Fire & Ice

Congratulations Bryce!

Well done Kevin and Catherine.

A very successful round for all and for UWOL. The sharks went pretty hungry this round.

Thanks Trond and Chris too!

Well done Bryce! Let's hope you continue to work on the long form version for us to see!

Congrats to Kevin and to Cat - very difficult judging this round, due to the excellent quality of the entries!

Hello everyone:

Bryce and Kevin, congratulations and thank you for the pleasure taken in viewing two truly masterful contributions. What a joy and inspiration!

As for me, I'm actually a bit stunned and simply say "thank you".

I am indebted to the group this round. You poured your support, feedback and keen expertise into me and I am all the better for it. If anything, I hope you will notice your comments given this round show up in my entries to come and you will see the difference the feedback has made.

Trond, does the challenge in February mean that the sign up thread opens in January? Thanks for the most excellent job in hosting the forum!

Congratulations to you Bryce. It was not unexpected, my friend.
My congratulations also to you Kevin and Catherine, as well as everyone who participated in this round.
Hope it will be just as many, or more in the next round.
Also many thanks to you Trond and Chris for what you do for us.

Congrats Bryce and Cat! I am in good company!

I told my girlfriend the results were in this morning and the first thing she asked was if the caribou film won! :)
It certainly is without a doubt the total package and you should be very proud of your work!

Cat you are always so humble about your work. There were a lot of entries this round and your film sits on the podium so don't ever sell yourself short!

I look forward to seeing what you both come up with in February!

Well congratulations to you Bryce and also to Kevin and Cat. You each did outstanding videos and truly deserved winning. Bryce, you did a great mini-doc on caribou and I can't wait to see the full length one. Kevin, it is going to be great to work with you again, and Cat, I'll see you in the summer. You each had excellent entries and great footage. See ya'll at the next one. Bob

Spot on!
I try to open sign-up threads almost 2 weeks before challenge begins.
Theme will be released February 1.
Btw, I am not involved with hosting the uwol forum in any way.
I only run the challenge.
What happens here in the forum is totally up to Chris Hurd and his wranglers to deside.

Thanks Trond:

My bad, I chose my words badly. No offense Chris. I'll try it again :) Thanks Trond for hosting the Challenge and to you Chris for hosting the forum.

Bob! I am so pleased and excited to meet up with you et. al. in July. This is not a closed invitation here. Anyone who feels they can break away to Colorado next July is most certainly welcome. Just a practice run for the exciting UWOL rendez-vous in October. Meryem knows about this and is joining in as well.

Wow what to say? I am a bit stunned. This was a round with so many great films. I am very honoured to have been placed in the winners circle. Actually this whole round has been a great one for me. I have learnt so much, & the feedback i received was a huge help. Actually the feedback i have always got here has helped me make better films than i ever could have. That & the inspiration i get from watching everyone's films here!
Congratulations to Kevin & Cat, yours were no exception to the exceptional films this round.
Kevin,
I do hope you & Bob put the film together you are hinting at. It will be incredible to add to what i can only describe as stunning!
Thank you Trond for steering the UWOL ship.
Chris, thanks for a great forum where there is a sharing of information unlike anywhere else on the internet when it comes to video!
Last but by no means least, thanks to all the UWOLers for making this little part of the forum such a great place to be!! You have taught me well!!
Regards,
Bryce

Just a little notice about the "winning film" badges we use to attach to the winner and runner ups films on Vimeo:
These are all made by Mike Sims.
I believe he has been busy outside the uwol world lately, but badges will be attached later if/when I receive any from him.

Re: UWOL 36 - The results

Congratulations Bryce well deserved and well done to Kevin and Cat. Unfortunately I was unable to watch any of the entries until late last night so sorry that I have not made any comments on any of the entries or voted for that matter. An excellent number of submissions all to a high standard hopefully a sign of good things to come for next year.

Mick

A wonderful theme Trond and some equally wonderful submissions! I am not surprised that it was difficult to vote this round.
Congrats Bryce - a beautiful film (can't wait to see your final film). A deserving winner for sure.
Well done Kevin and Cat!

Until Mike gets back up and running I will do the badges for you. Just let me have the file format you require and I'll have them to you in a jiffy.
