...chiming in to add that i'm proud of you, too, for finishing when you were tempted to quit...making videos is a process of overcoming a thousand seeming obstacles, including weather, technical difficulties, uncooperative talent (birds being the worst!) and the worst one of all, self-doubt.

good for you! and good for us, who are going to have the pleasure of seeing your work develop over time....

Gabriel
As mentioned some of your shots run a little long. Shooting different angles and cut aways can really save your butt at edit time. Your off to a good start and with the talent in this group you’ll get some good advice.

Thanks again guys! And thank you Meryem for the kind words.

I have got to say, I would not have made it to where I am (Even tho its not far at all! lol) without the help of all the talented people here, on DVinfo net.

Thank you all so much, and thank you Meryem, Kevin, and crew who made this thing happen, thank you so much!

Great job man. Most of what I would comment on has already been said but there is one suggestion, film everything. While waiting for birds to regroup and fly over me I got 20 minutes of squirle footage. I did not use it but it was there if I needed it. By doing that you should have stuff available to cut into the long clips like the others are suggesting. I tell everyone who comes around, especially those that I work with......If you see one of my camera's assume it is on because it probably is.

Thanks Randy! That is a good idea. I was just trying to hold back on the record button as much as possible because I only have about 70 minutes worth of all my tapes (All three of them). And I use them for shorts too, so yeah, I need to go buy more...

Thanks for watching!

Gabriel:

Starting young or starting old like me, we all have a lot to learn. Glad to see you finished. This was no easy go trying to find the proper subject, and if you are limited in transport, it gets harder.... Others have covered technical issues.

Very calm scenes; you show appreciation for serenity, Gabriel.

Footage did not remind me of an encounter years ago near a road-sign:
"Duck, eggs for sale"

Thanks guys, thank you Brendan.

Haha, that is a funny sign!

Nice work Gabriel, I want to see more ducks, beautifull birds they are :)
maybe short'n the snowscene, but over all, nice work.

Gabriel Yeager January 27th, 2007 12:00 PM

Thank you Geir! I have a lot (And I mean alot!) more duck footage! Including a gull thinking he was a duck! lol. I am thinking of making a remix of the film and then posting it up here. I was going to shorten some and add more of other stuff that I got. So I look forward to doing that! I'll be sure to let you all know when I do it.

Thanks for the comments!
~Gabriel
