S-Video Output on nVidia 8800GTX?
 

I'm looking to add a studio monitor to my editing setup. Currently I am running an nVidia GeForce 8800GTX video card driving two 20" monitors on extended desktop. I run Production Suite CS3.

I can't seem to utilize the S-Video output on my graphics card. When I do, it just uses the TV as an additional screen and turns off the graphics on my second monitor.

Anyone know how to do this?

I did not think it had s video only a hd composite out and dvi's

On many graphics cards, you may have three outputs, but only two may be used at once.

So what would my options be. I guess I could buy another 8800GTX and use it in SLI mode. Could I add another (cheaper) video card just to handle the stream?

Or is something like a low-end Matrox card the bast solution? I'm stuck here...

Generally, I would add another card. It does not have to be an SLI card.

It does not have to be the same brand, but I find that this does help in some cases.

make sure they are both Nvidia most computers do not like to have a ati and nvidia working together, but two or more of either work fine.

I have systems with 8800(512) and 7600(256) and one with ati 1650(512) and 1550(256) and generally run two 24inch dvi monitors and one 42inch 1080p hdtv, and can plug in another monitor or downconvert the dvi to and sdtv signal.
