Seeking opinions on these two 17" monitors.

I'm debating whether to buy a flanders scientific 17" field monitor, or the panasonic 17" field monitor.

When renting a camera / monitor/ lens package, does it matter to you guys if the monior is a flanders? Truth be told they have better color, resolution, and contrast, more video scopes and are even a bit cheaper.

The panasonic is the industry standard.

Thoughts?

Get the Flanders.

I have the Panasonic BT-LH1710W and find its scaling to be subpar with fine detail and movement.

I, too, wanted the Flanders but I went the conservative route. Now, I wish that I had gone with the FS LED model.

Plus, with the LED model, a v-mount/A-B battery will last very long in the field (using a d-tap to XLR cable).

Also, the FS can be upgraded to 3G input...for $1995. http://www.shopfsi.com/product_p/3gb...-o%20board.htm

For just a little more money, have you seen this 24" JVC with dual-link SDI for 444 1080/60p? http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/724207-REG/JVC_DT_R24L4DU_DT_R24L4DU_24_Studio_Monitor.html

Flanders it is.

That JVX looks awesome. I already have the 26" Panasonic.

Are you getting the 3G upgrade now or possibly when the F3's 3G upgrade is released? Are you planning on getting the F3's HD-SDI upgrade and HDCAM SR recorder?

What is your opinion of your 26" Panasonic, and have you used other LCDs of similar size and price?

The 26" pannys image quality is great however, it still has the Panasonic green bias, but it far more accurate than the 17". I need a second monitor, leaving me with one, and one with director/client.

I am interested in why you say the 26" is way more accurate than the 17" Panasonic. I assumed a $3k 17" monitor should be comparable in quality to a $4k 26" monitor aside from 1080p vs 720p.

The 17 is very green. At least the ones i have experience with. Even if you shift the phase down towards the magenta it still looks oddly green.

The 26" looks better.
