Monitor hasn't arrived yet but apparently I need to eat my hat...

The SmartViewHD is already being used to color correct shows for television.

Do a Google search for Bob Zelin blackmagic design smart view for a review.

Completely counterintuitive but...

hello...are there other 17" Full HD monitors out there that are quick (Response Time <16ms)?
I'm finding many larger units but not 17's.

Sure. I should have one of these shortly. Its full HD and has a 10bit panel. Response time is in the microseconds.
