HDCP Ready vs. HDCP compliant.

It seems that if you want to watch Blu-ray or HD-DVD’s later this year on your PC, then you need to be running Windows Vista (or some other OS that supports it. (XP doesn’t not), a graphics card that is HDCP Ready , and an HDCP Ready Monitor.

It seems HDCP compliant doesn’t mean anything other than the chip set on the graphic’s car supports a one dollar chip from Texas Instruments, but you can’t upgrade the card, you have to shell out $400+ for a new HDCP Ready graphics card. The same is true with those new digital monitors.
