Marshall field monitors HD-SDI vs Component
 

Hello.

I've seen that a number of you are using the 7" Marshall that offers component input, and that the component input truly beats the composite or S-vid inputs - I would guess that makes sense as expected.

They also manufacture the same monitor with an HD-SDI input. Just curious if anyone has used it, or seen the benefit on a monitor with resolution limits.

It would be convenient to hook up one cable to the Canon H1, but no sense in spending the cash if it doesn't provide an obvious improvement.

I would think it would deliver better results than the component model, but it's a lot more cash, right? It would also be pretty much the only way to do it on the canon. I'm buying the HVX so I'm going with the component version. 3 or 4k for a camera monitor is just crazy to me on a 10k sub camera.

I do think if you could use it as your studio monitor.. then the cost increase might be worth it....
