Which monitor?
 

I'm searching for a nice portable monitor for my 35mm adapter and camera (Depending on production I use HDV or DV) And I would like to use my Sony Batteries (NP-QM91D). Price: about 500€

Define portable. If you mean able to mount on the camera that would narrow it down a ways. I've done the research in this category and unless you don't want to have issues with finding multiple power sources and have cables running everywhere you're looking at $1000US to get you up and running with a halfway decent monitor.

I've been deciding between the varizoom Swit:

I actually have the Swit at my house now (due to a mix up with an intended order cancel) and have to say it's not all that bad. I would NOT want to rely on it alone, but as a solution for focus and framing while running the camera I think it works pretty nicely (haven't seen it outside yet). The colors aren't bad, but it's not very bright at all and it is extremely noisy.

I managed to find the Marshall used at the Cinevate forums and it will be arriving next week hopefully. Perhaps I can do a comparison before I send the Swit back…

Chad can you do a test for us and see if the Swit will do an image flip. It doesn't mention it in the Specs on the VZ site. I know that would also help Piet, since he has a 35mm adapter that may require image flip.

Also Piet, you may be able to buy a cable harness for those batteries that will allow them to dock with an LCD monitor. The only monitors that I know will take the Sony batteries without modification are the NEBTEK NEB-70 http://www.nebtek.com/proddetail.php?prod=101-NEB70LI monitors. They are based on a Panasonic TC7WMS1, but I don't think they will image flip. Buying a monitor based on battery compatibility isn't necessarily the best idea, but if that is your choice, you may want to call Nebtek and see which of their monitors will do an image flip.

The SWIT does the magical flip by pressing the minus (-) button. It's very handy.

Chad: I bought a SWIT after reading this post and I can't get it to filp.. are there any special chants or anything I'm not doing - there's certainly no mention of flip in the literature...
