Highlights from the UK

We seem to have a bunch of highlights flying about on this forum, so fantastic to see people striving to produce good work.

Here's another one of ours which we humbly submit before you all. Filmed towards the end of 2009, the reception was held at our favourite venue. Hope to hear back what people think.

Nice work Aaron. You have some very nice glidetrack shots there and the general mood is very uplifting. I especially liked the shot at 00:30. Did you do it by zooming out while using the glidetrack? Neat.

If there is one point that seems a little bit off my preferations, is the many slow zoom-ins and zoom-outs. I like the fast and short zooms when I see them in videos, but the slow and long ones are maybe a little bit overused. Of course it's a matter of subjective point of view, and it doesn't mean I am right on this. Other than that a very nice piece! Thanks for sharing!

Aaron...

Great job. You did a great job telling the story of the day. I loved the slider shots (expecially the one Dimitris mentioned).

Thanks guys.

Dimitris, you are spot on with the glide and zoom out. I would love to have claimed credit for myself, but that was a shot taken by my cameraman - really loved it when I saw it upon viewing the rushes.

This shoot was the first time we used the Glidetrack as well as the glidecam - so some of the shots are a bit rough round the edges, especially the GC - I really need to start going to the gym!

Aaron,

You had many slider shots that I enjoyed watching. I think this was the first time I've ever seen wedding footage that dollied and zoom like the shots you had. I also like the color treatment you did to the video. Did you do any color grading/correction at all or was it straight out of the camera? Nice work. Hope to see more.

Hi Antz,

We used MB for the grading applied on this clip. If only our cameras could produce the colouring that we look for - it would save us sooo much time in post.

Cheers
Aaron
