Hi Travis! At first we wanted it to come from the couple but in the end, we decided to come up with the script so that it would be easier on our part when we edit the video... :D

Thank you everyone!

Those were some very nice looking shots, really professional. Is there a way to see the video from the 2nd place and first place entry?

Amazing work!

where is that song from?

Cheers,
Scott

What cameras are you using? I'm seeing a lot of focus pulls, but somehow I think you're using 2/3 inch cameras and not a 35mm adaptor. I'd love to know.

My favorite shot is the one where the bride is outside the church (blown out) and there is a shift in exposure revealing her. Was that exposure shift on the fly or did you just bump it up in post and then pull it back down to the level you shot it at?

I also love how you used all the light flares as transitions.

In the fireworks sequence, I noticed a good bit of directional light hitting the couple that wasn't from the camera. Was this a practical from the location or did you have an assistant hitting them with a light from off camera?

There is some great wedding videography in your neck of the woods, but that was one of the best I've seen. Loved it.

Scott,
The song is "The Cry" by Hanz Zimmer. It's from a movie called "The Holiday". He edited it a bit.

Noa, heres the link where you can download the rest of the entries including ours... http://pinoyvideomaker.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=466

Thanks Scott! I guess Ethan knew the song.. :D

Ethan, We're using Sony FX1s without any add-ons. The exposure shift was from the camera itself. We just adjusted the ND filter when she started walking.

The directional light hitting the couple during the fireworks sequence was from the people who provided lights at the reception venue, not ours... hihihi!

Thank you so much Ethan!!!

Hope I didn't steal your fun by answering this question. I'll keep quiet next time. I was just excited that I knew the answer.

Wow, no add-ons or 2/3 inch chips? I knew I wasn't seeing crazy 35mm DOF, but I didn't dream that you were getting that decent DOF from a 1/3incher. I stand corrected.

Looks like my guess was a bit off again. It's kinda fun trying to disect someone else's work and figure out what they did. It seems I'm not so good at it, but it's fun trying.

Thank you guys. (or you guy, singular?)
Work like yours is inspirational and makes me want to keep pushing my quality level up. I get frustrated and discouraged easily and it helps me to take a second and look at some of my favorites from time to time as a reminder of what's possible if you stick with it. I've now added your work to that list.

Raphael Jamil Pranga November 8th, 2007 09:08 PM

hey Ethan, no prob with mentioning the song~ ^_^

And yep, no add-ons... pure stock! we're also considering a 35mm adapter in the near future...

And yes, we are a team... I'm just the one who loves to share our work to others! hihi! And wow! Your last words are really flattering! Thank you sooo much!
