Cool 3D slideshow, how do I make one!
This is the best example I could find...not a wedding though. What software does this?

I think I am going to look for the tutorial! Awesome slide show. |

I would say it's done with the 3D camera within the program not to difficult just takes time
Rob. |
it's easy but time-consuming:
- import all your photos into AE (best to make them all the same size before importing, trust me). - then tick the 3D function of each layer. use a combination of 'top' view and 'active view' to arrange them in 3D space (move X, Y, Z co=ordinates). - add a 'camera' layer above all of these layers, and then keyframe the camera moving through 3D space over time. Also keyframe the source point, i.e. where the camera is looking http://www.fxfilms.co.uk/examples.htm (see the Love Story montage) and these award winning montages will blow you away: http://www.bridalfilms.net/articles/3d_montage.shtml http://www.imacron-usa.com/work_pm.html |
This demo was a pretty simple example of 3d planes in AE. If you watch some of those tutorials, you will have a better understanding of how to setup a primary cam and also change your flat images into a 2d plane in a 3d world. The run down is you set up your images, give them static positions (x,y,z) coordinates, and then just animate your camera to pan to each individual frame and time it with the music. You will definitely want to use easing when you're moving the camera around in your timeline. There's a bit of a learning curve, but once you start to get it, it's not that hard :) This demo would just take a good amount of time setting up and choosing all the right photos, not to mention animating the camera.

the good thing with after effect is you can use scripts for everything.
there are scripts that allow to randomly place the pictures in a 3 D space and allow to go from pciture to pictures without knowing anything about how the script are done or how after effect works. http://aescripts.com/2006/06/12/3d-layer-distributor/ look at the AutoOrientCamera demo. http://www.nabscripts.com/Downloads/..._en_1.php?id=2 |
Thanks guys. Richard, I saw your clip too even before I found that youtube example. I used it because the whole clip is just the 3D slide show.
Once you either use a pre determined script for AE to run the 3D slide show presentation or create your own, can you then use that as a templete and just plug in the pictures cutting down on set up time? Rob |
There are several good AE templates available for purchase that will do the same kind of thing:
