16mm film, an inside look
I'm a film geek. Never went to school for it, so perhaps that explains my wide-eyed wonder with every new thing I discover.
Here's a (shortened) videoconference (with voiceover added later) I was able to capture off my computer screen during a film transfer: http://masonjarfilms.typepad.com/fil.../telecine.html I've always taken what they've given me without sitting in and instruction. It's a sellable look. If you've sat in on a transfer session before, perhaps you can give me some tips on some of the requests I can make to make the footage look even better! thank ya, jones |
Hey Jones....this looks really good. The depth of color is quite good. I'm looking at doing the virtual sit in with a colorist with the company you had do this work. Makes a huge difference to push the negative as you pointed out. I've got some Super 8 coming back from Spectra...kind of anxious to see. You got me wanting a 16 now!

Besides, Spectra's 'house' look that they give me without my input is more than good enough for me! jones |
