How much footage on 1 DVD?
The wedding I am editing now is at 1 hour 46 minutes. Before I render all this, will this fit on a single DVD and have good quality?
Not sure what the longest is you can put on a single layer DVD and still keep the quality good. Thanks |
DVD's are 2 hours so yes an hour 46 will fit just fine :)

The amount of 'footage' you can put on a SL DVD basically depends on the bitrate that you use. you can use a bitrate calculator to figure what you need to use but up to 2 hours usually looks pretty good. If you use too high a bit rate you can cause confusion with some DVD players.

And just to add to the confusion, the better encoding software you use, the more you can add (and still make it look good). A good calculator is located at Bitrate Calculator. Hope this helps. My best. Mike |
Hey Denny,
What software are you using? jones |

Adobe Premier Pro CS3, to Encore. |
if you want high quality make sure you don't go above 1: 30 per dvd. Unless you have a nice encoder.
