This Is Too Funny

So at a wedding this summer one of my assistants forgot to stop recording on the camera when the couple decided to take a break during the photoshoot. Now I'm sure we've all done this before at some point. We hit the record button, but don't press it in far enough or whatever, and the camera either doesn't start recording or doesn't stop.

Well, in this case, the camera recorded 10 minutes of footage and my assistant had no clue. Here's the catch, at one point he decided to use the restroom, and for some reason he didn't set the camera down as he was using the urinal (yeah, it grossed me out too).

The funny part is that he was holding the camera in one hand, with the lens pointing straight up .... at his face. So my assistant, without knowing it, essentially film himself going to the bathroom. I can't wait to call him and give him some grief!

sounds like youtube material to me

Are you going to call him before, or after you post the video.. ;p

Still deciding .... d;-)

Actually a client of mine brought up a story of how he was filming something for one of his clients (he was a web designer I think) and did the same thing. He never went over the tape either and found out from the client.

He mentioned it as how it relates to being wired up with a microphone before the ceremony.

At least it was pointed up. (the camera that is)

Definitely, Ethan .. definitely.

I have never brought a camera with me to the bathroom, and now I know... I never will.

Travis Cossel October 13th, 2008 04:17 PM

Me either, Louis, and now I have another good reason why I shouldn't. d;-)

I showed my assistant earlier today, and he's normally a pretty talkitive guy ... he was pretty speechless ... I was laughing soooo hard ...

I've been caught out with a wireless mike that way - was acting in a series of 4 TVC's for a car yard and headed off to the loo completely forgetting I was wired up and it was on. The camera wasn't recording but the soundie had a grin on his face when he came over to switch it off till the next take.

Oh man! That's hilarious.

I would have contacted him saying "Hey, I've uploaded a sneak peek of the wedding we shot the other day. I think it's some of the best stuff we've ever captured and the couple is going to love it! Check it out."

:)
