Beginner question for editing
 

Hello guys,
I would like to ask the question regarding a effect which I saw in a couple of your videos.
It is applied to video but looks like some of the frames of the video are missing,so
the final shot looks like that for example a man coming towards me is is faster close to me on say 3 framys so we dont see all the frames as he comes.

Sorry I dont know better way to explain,hope you know what I am trying to say.
I think is done by Time remapping??

Are you refering to jump cuts?

You say you have seen some examples, do you have any links to the videos?

Also I have one more question ,do you use mainly Premiere (or another NLE) or
something like AE??

We use just Sony Vegas. Very efficient and simple but powerful.

To do a jump cut just split/cut your footage at one point, move along and cut again. Delete a bit and then move it all together. So basically going from one scene to the next. No special effects needed at all.

And just an FYI - jump cuts are USUALLY something to be avoided. They can be used for artistic effect in certain cases but more often than not they break the smoothness of the edit and are disconcerting to the audience. Danny's video, where the cuts sync well with the musical phrasing, is a good example of a creative use, but in general try to avoid it in a normal scene.
