Making a quick civil ceremony into something Cinematic/Filmic
 

Hi all,

I've been experimenting with some new colouring techniques - and in doing so, i'm hoping to make the footage look more filmic

Everytime I see a clip with the glidetrack it edges me that wee bit closer to buying one!

How many cameras were you using?

And James... GET A GLIDETRACK! Those things are awesome!

James, if your in scotland your glidetrack wont have that far to travel.

Compact SD, small, cheap, wonderful results.

Those of you shooting with it.... I suppose you have to have (or guy) a tripod head to mount to it right? And then you need a tripod that is able to have the head removed. Both things i lack. :-(

Any idea how much just those two parts usually run (for sticks & head able to run the GT system that is)?

Blake - i always use 2 x XH-A1
James - you'll not regret it!
Jason - just a 2nd -hand £10 velbon tripod from ebay is enough to do the trick, that's all i use anyway
Kees - to sum up the process, I brought down the highlights so there were no whites, and pulled back from the lowlights/shadows so as to increase detail

Great video;
bought the glide-track last month and used it on my last wedding, results are very good.

You coped very well with the strong bright light coming through the window during the speech and the ceremony. (Why is it whenever they do speeches, well most of the time, they stand in front of the camera with there backs to a bright lighted window?)
Loved the cinematic look to the video, well done.

when i first started filming weddings, disgracefully not shooting in manual, i used to really got wound up by bright window backdrops...but now, it doesn't even phase me...thank god...coz it happens alot ;)

Based in Colwyn Bay.

Sometimes I ask the Master of ceremonies to close the curtains a little, but most of the time I cope well with bright lighted windows and use colour correction to solve the very bright ones.

Great work! My wife and I watched and loved what you did with the time-lapse stuff and color grading/effects. Very nice. Loved the camera work as well, the Glidetrack stuff is great. LOVED the clouds timelapse - excellent!
