I never have a filter on my lenses. I only put on filters for a special purpose (polarizers, UV to protect from sand on beach) or special effects (grads, pro mist). When filter is not required the front is bare. I rarely have problems with flare or ghost images. I also don't use Tiffen, Hoya, or other no name filters. I use B + W, Heliopan, Singh Ray and a couple of other speciality filters (including one or two that only Tiffen make). Micro fiber cloths are my favorite cleaning material. they can be used wet or dry. Pentax and Schnieder make excellant cloths.
