WOW

As usual......WOW

Chris Day November 18th, 2004 01:58 PM

Wow....how do you know what shots to get to do all that lovely work. Are you using a steady cam??

Glen Elliott November 18th, 2004 02:04 PM

No all handheld- accept for the linear tilt shot of the front of the church (shot right before groom's shoes).

How do I know what shots to get? I dunno- half of it are shots that I "know" I want and the others I come up with once I'm on location. Thank you.

Nice work Glen. I particularly like the sharp cuts done in time with the music accents.

I'm curious as to how you did the 'Fade to White' transitions that seem to envelop the shot.

Glen Elliott November 19th, 2004 07:59 AM

I believe you referring to the white flash transition (in Sony Vegas).

Eric Chan November 19th, 2004 04:27 PM

well done and thank you for sharing it with us again.

One effect I am interested in is the wipe transition from one scene to another. Did you create mask for both clips and manipulate them while the 2 clips intersect. Just wondering if there is a more efficient way of doing it...

Thanks

Glen Elliott November 19th, 2004 05:01 PM

Yes a much more efficient way- I simply added a feathered wipe and key framed the angle of as it progressed.

Another Masterpiece

Thanks for sharing that with us Glen, as always a pleasure to watch. It gives me something to aspire to.

I hope you charge a whole bunch of money to do weddings. The stuff I have seen from you is awesome.

Mike DelliSanti November 22nd, 2004 04:51 PM

Great shooting and editing Glen. It looks like you've been doing this a while. I freelance shoot and edit so I've seen different levels of both and again this is GREAT !! You should enter this piece at the next WEVA contest. Nice music score also.

Take Care.

Hey thanks Mike. I was actually thinking about entering a piece in next years WEVA expo.

I haven't been doing this too long actually-3 years and only 10 weddings under my belt.

Where in NJ are you from?

Mike DelliSanti November 22nd, 2004 06:32 PM

You could have fooled me. I looks like you're an old pro at this.

I'm from south jersey near Toms River in a small town which you probably never heard of called Pine Beach , nobody seems to know where it is so I usually just say T.R.

Glen you should enter...as your material is on the same level (acutally higher) than what I've seen of other winners. Don't let your short number of weddings hold you back as you are definitley a gifted artist....
