That's excellent! Yeah, forget the diffuser!
Does it make sense to add a few 'super' bulbs for those situations where the dancers are far away and in a cave? Also, for storing purposes, smaller is better, but would a larger surface area give a softer, more elegant light? I would be interested in paying for a couple of these if you or someone else wanted to make some money. I don't have a lot of time on my hands. I'm editing a shot where our LitePanel weakened at the worst possible time. Never again. |
Hi Dana
I just use both banks if I have a high angle shoot of the dance floor and it will even light up the wall around 30' away!!!!! Regrettably I discovered that making them was not really enconomically viable what with shipping and things and the time it took. My DIY site does have a tutorial there that you could maybe give to a local enthusiast to build for you. I guess it would be viable if you were making them on a production line...that's why the commercial ones cost so much..they have to make a profit!!! An eager enthusiast with a soldering iron could zap up up pretty quickly and you can buy the LED's and battery off eBay. Someone like that wouldn't even need a tutorial as the whole thing is pretty simple to wire up!! Chris Hurd is pretty fussy about commercial links so I''l PM you the link so I don't infringe DVInfo's rules!!! Chris |
Thank you so much. I appreciate your help!
