A bit of HUGE news for us.

We just relaunched our brand new blog (with our new branding) today and it also unveils the details of some pretty HUGE news. Check it out. It's pretty crazy.

Serendipity Blog

Art Varga April 13th, 2010 12:21 PM

I'll bet the market in Miami is a tad bigger than Boise. Best of luck to you Travis!

Nice blog/branding too

Travis Cossel April 13th, 2010 12:35 PM

Indeed it is, Art. d;-) One of the top reasons we're relocating. Thanks for the comment on the branding. We can't wait to incorporate it into our website and everything else.

Art Varga April 13th, 2010 12:42 PM

Did you hire out for the branding or do it youself? I'm talking to someone now who has a package for around $1500. It initially sounded steep to me but they do good work so I might take the plunge.

Jeff Wallace April 13th, 2010 01:47 PM

Make sure you have Hurricane insurance ;)

Well, I have a graphic design background so I'm used to doing most of the design, but with all the planning and research for the relocation I just couldn't seem to get anywhere with our branding. So yeah, we hired it out:

Luxecetera | Branding, Templates for Photographers, and Fine Wedding and Personal Stationery

It was tough to spend that money since we're saving so much for the relocation costs, but it was worth every penny in the end. By the way, $1,500 sounds about right.

For sure! Funny thing is all my life I've shook my head at people who willingly chose to live in hurricane areas. Now I'm joining them. Life's little ironies ....

Don Bloom April 13th, 2010 03:53 PM

Congrats. It's always a hard decision to make a move like that but I'm sure everything will work out just fine for you, besides, unless you were in love with snow and cold just the weather alone can make it an easy decision to make.

Sun, sand, surf, South Beach how can you go wrong. Best to you!

Travis Cossel April 13th, 2010 04:41 PM

lol .. we definitely fell out of love with snow and cold and gray skies for 9 months of the year. Thanks for the well-wishes, Don. d;-)

Stephen J. Williams April 13th, 2010 05:58 PM

Travis...

I wish you guys the best of luck in your new location. As someone who just moved from the Miami/Ft Lauderdale area, I'm a bit jealous... With any luck my job will allow my wife and I to move back down there next summer.

Steve

Travis Cossel April 13th, 2010 06:07 PM

Thanks, Stephen. Sorry you had to move, but when you're back next summer we should meet up for lunch or something.

Stephen J. Williams April 13th, 2010 07:47 PM

yeah me too... I would love to meet up. I'll keep that in mind! Good luck once again.
Steve

Andrew Waite April 13th, 2010 09:04 PM

Congrats Travis! Even though I've known for over a month ;) Best of luck!

Darrick Vanderwier April 13th, 2010 11:02 PM

A HUGE congrats to the 4 of you!
Hope your little family enjoys the journey that faith takes you on.
It's kinda crazy where we find our lives headed at times but that's all part of the thrill eh?
:o)
All the best to you and we love your new blog setup.

Kren Barnes April 13th, 2010 11:40 PM

Good Luck Travis! We know you'll do very well in Miami !

Richard Wakefield April 14th, 2010 01:55 AM

Susanto Widjaja April 14th, 2010 02:34 AM

Wish you the best of luck mate!

Aaron Jones April 14th, 2010 07:32 AM

Fantastic news Travis. Although I can't help but think the reason you chose Miami is to be one step closer to Disney World.

Travis Cossel April 14th, 2010 10:20 AM

Thanks everyone! And Aaron, we'll be one step closer to a cruise port ... d;-)

Cody Dulock April 14th, 2010 11:33 AM

Congratulations and good luck you two! The blog/branding looks great!

Travis Cossel April 14th, 2010 11:57 AM

Thanks, Cody!

William Smyth April 14th, 2010 12:05 PM

Good luck, Travis. It will be nice to be in a market that has weddings year round.

John J. Arnold April 14th, 2010 01:40 PM

Congrats Travis - what an exciting move! Do you have any contacts there to help you get business rolling or are you sort of starting from scratch?

BTW, really like the blog - what software are you using?

Travis Cossel April 14th, 2010 02:44 PM

William - Thanks, and I totally agree!

John - Oddly enough we don't have any weddings booked for next year in Miami, but we did just book one for San Francisco. We haven't actually started our marketing campaign in Florida yet, though. We should be kicking that off in the next week or two.

John Moon April 21st, 2010 11:43 AM

Late arrival here. Congrats! Didn't realize you moved. Quite a contrast. Best of luck to you and your wife. You are closer to the destination wedding locations too, like the Bahamas and DR, etc. It will be interesting to see if your environmental change will cause some change in your shooting or editing style.

We're using ProPhoto ... but we had a designer build it out for us.

Not quite yet, John. d;-)

We don't actually make the move until October, but mentally I think we are already there. Thanks for the well-wishes, and I'm pretty sure our shooting/editing styles will evolve. Just having decent-looking venues will open up a lot of creative doors for us.

Craig Terott April 23rd, 2010 09:03 PM

Love the Jim & Sarah wedding trailer. It's really nice. Great work.

Travis Cossel April 23rd, 2010 09:59 PM

Thanks, Craig. Appreciate it!

Ken Diewert April 23rd, 2010 10:34 PM

Travis,

I've been swamped for awhile, and just heard your news...congrats on the move, and the bahamas trailer is a very nice piece.

Travis Cossel April 24th, 2010 01:04 AM

Thanks! Glad to hear your swamped. Busy is good. d;-)

Shaun Conner April 26th, 2010 10:26 AM

Congrats on the move Travis.

Travis Cossel April 26th, 2010 11:57 AM
