Andrew, I assume you, like us, want your programmes to repeat. How do you achieve this?
We couldn't find an "auto-repeat" function on the WD HD streamers so took the path of building an hour long programme of the same clips repeating and putting that on a 2.5inch (and thus USB powered) HDD. There's no technical reason why we can't velcro the HDD to the back of the player also but the thumb drive would be even smarter. |

I must check the software - maybe it's been updated. Thanks.

Yes, Nigel is right.

Incidentally the newest TVs commonly have a USB socket & can play media without the need for an external media player box. The Samsung C530 series of TVs definitely have this & there is a repeat play function.

Another vote for the WDTV players,
I have 3 screens at wedding shows, 1 hooked up to a blu-ray, 2 with a wdtv each. To get them to repeat, you press the option button, it will cycle through the options (shuffle, repeat all, repeat one etc...) Out of curiosity, what file format are you guys using the wdtvs to play I'm just using my vimeo export files (1080p 12mbps or 720p 5mbps) Love my wdtvs (use them at home all the time too) James |
Having read all of this I am reconsidering my stance on not doing paid shows. Thank you Andrew. In Sydney we have a few venues that have open days and invite preferred vendors to showcase alongside each other while the couples look at table settings and the like. The ones I agree to attend are free and with a better marketing strategy like Andrew's I'm sure I would increase bookings from a few to more than 5.

Thanks Rachael... as the saying goes: Keep doing what you're doing and you'll keep getting what you're getting. I think it really applies to marketing.
