I would be really careful on this Kelly. No offense meant since you've mentioned that you are no Joe Simon, I got a similar email That goes something like this " My daughter is getting married this June, I saw your website and would like to book your services. I only want the VERY BEST for my daughter and I was very impressed by your work. Just send me your agreement and pricing. Money is not a problem coz I want only the best for my daughter."

Mind you I am not Still Motion either. During that time I was advertised a few notches down from Still Motion. Why me? Why not Still Motion if money is not a problem? Are they booked for that day already? Later I got an email warning about this kind of email circulating and not to deal with them as it is a Scam.

But hey they could be legit too, so proceed with caution.

3 days ago I received this email:

Hello,
Happy New Year.My name is Susan Patrick,i live in Sacramento,CA.I am
presently in Republic Du Benin with my Fiance who is working here,but
probably will be moving back home soon and I'll be getting married
shortly after my arrival in the Country to my Fiance Daniel Smith.We
will need a wedding/party Videographer to help us in making up our
ceremony from at the hotel reception.We will like to find out what
your plans are for Saturday February 26th 2011.This is the date of our
Wedding so kindly let us know your availability for this day.We'll
take responsibility for your expenses regarding our plans.we might not
be able to meet you soon as planned,due to our unavailability in the
Country but,we are willing to retain the date, that's to make deposit
for booking prior we to our arrival to be sure we are interested in
your service,if we really are.Waiting to get your response.Thanks.

Again my gut feelings says this is a scam, and why am I vulnerable to this,
because I have a website, and this crooks got my information
thru my website.

And I just found out where Republic Du Benin is... it's in Nigeria! Huh!!!

No space after a comma or a period... biggest red flag of all, heh.

There are so many of these scams floating around - usually it's easy to spot "bad engrish", "poor punctiation", and the typical "sad (or to good to be) but true story line"... sometimes they're funny just to read, but watch out for active links/content.

Lately I've been seeing waves of phishing e-mails with "porn" lines, and links to sites that no doubt would infect any machine with a case of virtual herpes or worse... I guess that wasn't working, so now they are coming in with "investing" tag lines...

If you've got an e-mail, they will come in - scammers work the numbers game, and all they need is ONE sucker, best just to stick to real verifiable clients, safer that way! Surf safe out there!
