Do you reckon they batch process the photos in photoshop and then add the tilt shift look to a nested sequence as opposed to adding the tilt shift to each photo as part of the batch process? They charge $1500 NZD for the stop motion. I got in touch with them to see if theyd be a reasonable ooption for my couple instead of my services.

Brian, they seem more than happy to disclose their methods, just follow the trail from vimeo to their website and discussion forum.

Brian, when starting out, you just need to test the waters with pricing and see what other filmmakers / photographers would be charging for film like this.
If there isn't a stop motion type film yet in your area, then your pricing should be based on your experience and portfolio of other works.

Just going out on a limb here - I hate it.

Just the whole shoes walking, ties twirling, groom spinning nonsense.

The odd 'wow' shot scenery timelapse is nice, but more than 10secs and it becomes just a tacky gimmick.

That's just me.

Hi John

I think it's more of a photog thing rather than a videographer thing. I personally dislike it too..it appears stupid BUT if it makes money and brides like it then I guess we better take our still cameras to a gig.

I saw a pair of photogs shooting video with DSLR's this season inside a Church and while one of then was filming the bride "normally", the other had a Canon 5D mounted on a monopod and she had turned it upside down and was swinging the camera left and right like a pendulum!!!!! I dunno what the idea was there but if they can shoot "video" that way, this psuedo time lapse is mild in comparison.
