Wedding stock scenes.
 

Over Xmas drinks here I met some mates I hadn't seen for a while, good to catch up.

One creative TV producer has a son who works with a wedding outfit. They've collected stock shots of a lot of the venues,
and taken time to shoot 'beauty shots' and great dutch angles of all the exteriors, night and day, so they can swing them in to spice up their shows.
I saw some stills.

Also shots of Sydney harbour, the Bridge and the Opera House. They've made up sequences cut to classical music, I didn't have to see any of those,
like father like son :)

Took some time but they now have a very useful library and they show prospective clients selected scenes as part of their sales spiel.
It's an art, he says they can make an average wedding look like a high class affair.

Good idea, anyone doing anything like this?

Yep - I do contract filming for a wedding planner here that ships in Japanese couples by the truckload to have a "Dream New Zealand" wedding.

Over the years I've collected shots of all the local landscapes, harbours, ferns, mountains, including some cool timelapse sequences. I intermingle these throughout the opening sequences if the lighting roughly matches.

Obviously you can't drop a lovely autumn scene in during a winter wedding, but over time I've built up a great library.

I also upload them to Pond5 as stock footage and make a bit of extra cash selling the odd one too.

^^^^ Looks like my dreams of living in new zealand may come true someday. Couldn't figure out what kind of work I would be able to do.
