Question for Facebook users

Most brides choose to add on a HD highlights video to go with their long form wedding film I offer. This is for uploading to my company Facebook page so brides can show it to friends and family. They normally tag each other and share it on their walls. So far I have uploaded straight to Facebook so it plays right inside the website. I have debated uploading just to Vimeo (pro account) and embedding only on my website and uploading a link on my Facebook page. Are you doing either of these? What pros and cons do you see for both?

Re: Question for Facebook users

It is best to upload to your blog first for about a week as it drives traffic to your website, just post the blog link on yours and their face page. Then a week later post the vimeo link. Steve

Re: Question for Facebook users

I don't have a facebook page but place my trailers on vimeo and provide my clients with a link and they just add that on their facebook page, number of vimeo plays plus visits to my site skyrocket each time for a few days when my video is shared in that way. On my website I just place 4 or 5 of my more recent videos, potential clients just look at no more then 3 to 4 videos in general before they decide to contact me.

Upload to facebook. It plays then in Facebook for iPhone and other devices. They can tag and other benefits. If you link, they have to do a few more clicks on an iPhone to get it to play. People get bored after 1.

Re: Question for Facebook users

It depends on what your goal is.

Post it to your blog (via YouTube) for the best SEO results, though Facebook and other social media do score you points for shares and likes.

If you want to drive them to your website as part of brand recognition....

I prefer both - I post to my website, and share that video via Facebook in general, though I send the bride a link to her blog post, which has a typed synopsis, and any nice photos I have. That then has a link to Facebook for a gallery, if applicable.
