What sd card for Catholic Ceremony

Can I get a full Catholic Wedding ceremony on a 32 gig shooting 1080 p on Canon 60d? Or should I get a 64 for reassurance. Thanks in advance

I would get more card than you think you need by a long way. I don't remember how much time the 60D gets on a 32GB card since we sold our 60D a couple of years back.

The shortest catholic service I've shot is about 45 minutes. The longest was 1.5 hours because it also included a full mass.

From that you should be able to figure things out right?

I usually figure an hour to every 32 GB. You may get a little more than that, but it's a safety in case things run long.

I think that the 60D shoots at around 46 Mb/s at 1080, which is 5.75 MB/s. so that's 345 MB/minute, and therefore 20.7 MB/hour. But I think that the bitrate is variable, so plan for overhead.

Whatever you decide, make sure that your card is INRI certified ; )

Catholic weddings that include full mass with homily ,speeches, communion etc. can run quite long especially if there isn't another ceremony immediately following. There is also a few minutes outside, before and after the ceremony. Bride arrival on limo, shots of the church, guests arriving, bride and groom leaving getting showered by confetti/rice/bubbles, etc. Estimate at least 90 minutes. With cards as affordable as they are, I would get 64GB just for the ceremony portion. Running short of card space is not an excuse in this situation.

I would use two different 32 GB cards, in case of failure of one.

I'd also ask if they really wanted communion filmed. We generally don't, but even if they do want it, don't film the random guests going up for it.

A 32gb on a DSLR will hold 90 minutes. You need to find out if they are doing a full mass (1hr 30min) or mini mass (45-1hr).

A single card may just about cover a full mass.
