Duplicating my website

HI all,

Different question to the post below. For those of you who do build your own website, I hope you may be able to help me out here.
I built my website a couple of years back and it works fine and brings me in all the work I get for weddings.
I use Adobe Muse and find it good enough for what I want.
However, I am going to be relocating overseas soon and basically want to duplicate my existing website, (text and images but not keywords) onto a new site yet to be created.

What I would like to know is whether or not Google will see that new site and ignore it as a duplicated site....the key thing is this; I will be keeping my current website in the UK active.
I have heard that SEO can be a bit picky like that but any advice will be greatly appreciated.
I would rather not build a new site from scratch when the current site serves me so well.

Duplicate text will get you dinged, though out of country may mean it won't matter too much. Or just make some modest changes to make sure it's not identical.

Chris, if you have FTP access to the web server backend, you should be able to download the complete website and just upload it to the new server. With a new domain name, I am reasonably sure Google will treat them as different sites.

I am in a similar position, but will just be updating my site with the new details as I am not keeping a presence locally.
